I lost my heart in Amsterdam

There’s only one answer I’d give to “Hey Caroline, are you up for a road trip?”. A hundred times yes! After coming back from Norway, I made a quick stop in Germany where my family lives and a few hours later, an exceptionally good friend grabbed me, some blankets and lots of food and we went off to Holland for two days. Love when that happens.

We took the three-hour drive, ran to the beach and into the icy water like little kids, slept in the sun, had some barbecue dinner at the beach, watched the sun go down and played cheesy music and shared anecdotes on the guys we fell for in high school, and then moved back to the camping site (it’s only €8/night, try beat that!) for a small tent disaster… We should probably bring at least one of those guys next time to make sure the thing doesn’t collapse after a first breeze. Yay for feminism!

The day after we took a 30-minute train ride to lovely Amsterdam and although I’ve been there before (always the outcome of spontaneous road trips when you grew up near the German border!), I’ve never loved it as much as that day. It was one of those Saturdays in late summer when everyone would come outside one last time to soak up the sun, hop on their boats and just take a bath in everyone’s joy and happiness. Also, I’ve never seen more handsome people in one place than on that day. Nearly everyone was absolute street style blog material, but for once, we opted for pizza and quiet strolls among the Grachten…

Your pictures make me miss my country and capital! Oh, how I love the Northsea and it’s beaches in the Netherlands.

I fully understand that 🙂 It’s beautiful out there and I love the roughness of the Northsea. Hope you get to come back for a visit soon!
