What makes Berlin the place it is? I’d like to meet the person who can sum up this crazy city in one sentence. As for the rest of us, I’ve done a street life series from different perspectives which I’m gonna present this week. While I’m eating the last burgers and sipping the last beers on these insanely liberal streets of Berlin, I’m starting to get a little sentimental when I prepare everything for the move back to London at the beginning of next week. After all, the city that’s mainly been responsible for such an unforgettable summer deserves a bit of a virtual goodbye ceremony, don’t you think?
The kick-off for the street life project is a number of analog shots taken in Kreuzberg and Mitte. One of my favourite places this summer has been Admiralsbrücke at Planufer in Kreuzberg. I can’t count the number of times that I’ve brought different people, different pizzas and different drinks to enjoy the sunset a few metres above river Spree. Other places involve the art house Tacheles – which has sadly been closed now, read all about it on here -, Café im Literaturhaus in Charlottenburg, Mauerpark in Prenzlauer Berg or the area around Kottbusser Tor.
