48 hours in Cardiff: “Free commentary and a good-looking captain!”

After being warned what a terrible place Cardiff would be (after out tickets were already booked, of course) we couldn’t help but being a little dubious on weather the Welsh capital is the rewarding place for (London spoilt) visitors we’d expected it to be.

However, judging by the number of photos I took (embarrassing, I feel like a little psycho!) I did like it very much. Especially the combination of the sea with the setting sun, or with the fog the day after made my heart beat a little faster. It was so very British to be covered in blankets in the early morning hours while being on a small boat for a little coast exploration.

Here’s a selection of seaside snaps, the other ones (including highlights from our amazingly beautiful accommodation!) will be put up here in the next couple of days.

Yay for touristy captain poses!

Cardiff has a mediterranean touch, especially when the weather’s mild and most of the cafés and bars offer outside snacks and drinks. There’s not a better end of a day than to stroll along the harbour and talk to strangers that turn out to be old Londoners. Oh well, seems like it’s never gonna leave us and I can’t say that I regret it… x
